Where it is

Show on the map

Didmarton, Cotswold

The position comes from a survey, so expect to be within a few metres rather than standing at the trunk.

Is this the one?

What to check when you get there.

  • It should be a small leaved lime.
  • It's a coppice: cut at the base long ago, so look for a ring of stems coming out of one wide stool at ground level.
  • People round here may know it as The Westonbirt Lime, and there's sometimes a sign.
  • The position came from a surveyor, so it can be a few metres out. If two big trees are close together, the girth usually settles it.
